Los potentes y creativos collages de Elena Terife se enlazan con los precisos, irónicos y agudos versos de María Dolores Ara. Juntos conforman un acto creativo a dos manos que nos aproxima a otra dimensión del discurso amoroso y de la experiencia misma de la lectura. Recetas infalibles para sufrir con propiedad dará la oportunidad a lectores y coleccionistas, de obtener una propuesta original que aborda de manera creativa, elegante y mordaz el tema del amor.
Las ediciones de Gisela Cappellin y sus acciones de promoción editorial han ganado legítimamente un espacio en el universo editorial venezolano. En esta nueva oportunidad la edición es un proyecto iniciativa de la diseñadora y artista Elena Terife, resultado de su exploración estética y conceptual de «poesía ilustrada para llevar», que ella propuso como proyecto de tesis del diplomado en ilustración de la Universidad Católica de Chile en 2019 y, que desde el principio, tuvo como cómplice imprescindible a María Dolores Ara y sus ocho poemas.
Los versos de María Dolores Ara —escritora, profesora universitaria de reconocida trayectoria y coautora de este libro—, exploran su naturaleza y potencialidad creativa imbricándose con la imagen visual propuesta por Elena Terife y viceversa. Tal como señala la poeta en este libro, se quiere que la poesía sea una fiesta que revela lo oculto con un guiño pícaro, expandiendo las fronteras de la poesía con humor e ironía, como si se tratara de un viaje paródico al desamor convencional, al sufrimiento sempiterno. “El drama del corazón roto pero en clave risueña: Ya que vamos a pasarlo mal, vamos a reírnos de nuestra torpeza para cocinar el dolor a fuego lento”, y en este proceso, los collages de Elena Terife son finos aderezos para acompañar ese sufrimiento.
“Recetas infalibles para sufrir con propiedad” son ocho pequeños desplegables ilustrados con collages que brindan al lector estímulos poéticos asociados a diferentes referencias culturales del amor y que están agrupados en un empaque a manera de caja. Medieval, Barroca, Universal, De la casa, Griega, Rusa, Mediterránea, yCaribeña son matices o evocaciones de pulsiones amorosas a manera de recetas para sufrir por amor y con propiedad. Este libro-objeto de “poesía portátil” es una propuesta editorial en la que texto, ilustración y concepto gráfico caminan juntos, inseparables.

María Dolores Ara, poeta, ensayista y articulista, profesora de Lenguaje y Comunicación, Literatura Hispanoamericana, Literatura Española y Argumentación en la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. Profesora de Literatura para escritores y Análisis de textos en el Diplomado de Escritura Creativa en la Universidad Metropolitana. Profesora de Redacción y estilo para guionistas en el Diplomado de Escritura de Guión de la UNIMET. En su vocación formativa promueve diversos clubs de lectura.
Elena Terife, diseñadora gráfica, egresada en 1989 de la Fundación Neumann para el Desarrollo del Diseño, Caracas. Profesora de diseño gráfico del instituto Prodiseño (1992-1993). Diplomado en ilustración de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2019). Magister en diseño para espacios públicos, Escola Superior de Disseny, Barcelona, España (1999-2000). Premio de diseño Elisava Escola Superior de Disseny 2000. Acreedora del segundo lugar del premio Infolac Web 2004 de la UNESCO por el sitio web curiosikid.com para el Museo de los Niños de Caracas.
